Advantages:

Yes — Riverdell was built as an order tracking app for photographers and adjacent trades: videographers, editors, designers, service providers.

What it covers:

• Availability calendar — booked dates are visible before you reply to a client, so you cannot take two shoots on the same day by accident.
• Deposits and balance — each order records what was paid and what is still owed.
• Deadlines — the shooting date and the delivery date are tracked separately, with reminders for both.
• Costs per order — studio and lighting rental, assistant, stock, travel. Profit is calculated from them, not just turnover.

Compared to a spreadsheet: a table has to be designed and maintained by hand, it will not remind you about a deadline, will not show which dates are taken and will not calculate profit with costs on its own.

With two or three shoots a month plain notes are enough. It starts paying off when orders begin to overlap.

The Android and iPhone apps work offline: orders, calendar and statistics are stored on the device itself, not only on the server.

Offline you can do everything you do online — create an order, change an amount, mark a payment, open the dashboard. Changes queue up and reach the server on their own once you are back online; there is no «sync» button to press.

The on-device database is encrypted.

The web version works offline in read-only mode: recently loaded orders stay visible, but you cannot create or edit in a browser without a connection.

Yes. Riverdell imports orders from a calendar via an .ics file — the standard format exported by Google Calendar, Yandex Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook.

• export your calendar to .ics;
• open «Orders → Import» and pick the file;
• you get a preview first: nothing is written until you confirm;
• events become orders with a title, date and time — price, client and costs can be added later.

Importing the same file twice does not create duplicates: events are recognised by their own identifiers. Exporting your data back is available at any time.

Monthly income is calculated on the dashboard automatically from the orders that fall into the selected period. Turnover and profit are shown separately.

• Total value — base price plus additional services.
• Profit — the same figure minus the costs you recorded (rental, assistant, stock, travel).
• Average order — value divided by the number of orders.
• Profit per hour — for orders with working time filled in.
• On time and overdue — based on delivery dates; only orders with a deadline count.

The period is picked at the top: month, quarter, half a year, year or a custom range, with a comparison against the previous period of the same length.

A regular CRM manages deals and a sales funnel — how to move a lead to a purchase. Riverdell manages orders you have already taken: deadline, price, costs, payments and the outstanding balance.

• a CRM revolves around the client and the deal stage; here it is the order and its delivery date;
• a CRM usually has to be configured — custom fields, statuses, pipelines. Here the fields are already the ones a freelancer needs;
• a CRM rarely calculates profit per job including costs; here that is the main number;
• a CRM has no availability calendar in the sense a photographer needs it.

A separate class is studio CRM: online booking, room reservations, staff schedules, invoices — built for a studio as a venue. If you work alone and clients come from chat rather than a booking form, most of that sits unused.

What Riverdell does not have and will not: sales funnels, mass mailing to a client base, telephony, ad platform integrations.

No. Riverdell works entirely from a phone — there are Android and iPhone apps, and the same thing opens in a browser.

• Android 8.0+ — from RuStore or an installation file from the site;
• iPhone with iOS 17+ — from the App Store;
• browser on a computer, tablet or the same phone — nothing to install, and the site can be added to the home screen.

A computer is handier for bulk data entry and for reading charts, but everything can be done from a phone, including offline.

Your orders will not disappear: they are stored on the server as well as on the phone. Reinstall the app, sign in, and everything comes back — calendar, payments and statistics included. You can also sign in from a browser without installing anything.

• if you worked offline and deleted the app before the connection came back, the last edits were still queued on the device — let the app go online once before deleting;
• attachments and exported files cached on the device are wiped on deletion and on sign-out, for privacy;
• you can export your data to a file at any time;
• deleting the app and deleting the account are different things. The account is deleted separately in the profile, and that is irreversible.

Yes. One Riverdell account works on any number of devices at once — phone, tablet, computer in a browser. Signing in on a second device does not sign you out of the first.

Orders sync between devices on their own. If two devices edited the same order while one was offline, the app does not overwrite anything silently — it shows the conflict and asks which version to keep. Your devices and active sessions are listed in the profile, where you can revoke any of them — a lost phone, for instance.

For your own bookkeeping — yes. For tax reporting — no, and that is worth saying plainly.

Riverdell does not issue fiscal receipts, does not calculate self-employment tax and sends nothing to the tax authority. In Russia those receipts are issued in the official «My tax» app or through a bank that supports it.

What it does give a self-employed freelancer:

• actual income for a period, taken from orders rather than from bank statements where fees are mixed with personal transfers;
• a clear list of who still owes you and how much;
• costs per job, and therefore real profit;
• an export of your data for reconciliation.
